Ingredients

For the pie:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin purée
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

For the topping:

  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 5 tablespoons butter melted
  • vanilla ice cream optional, to taste, for serving

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Grease a medium skillet.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and the sugar until thoroughly combined and smooth.
  • Add the pumpkin purée, the heavy cream, the pumpkin pie spice, and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt and whisk together until smooth.
  • Pour the pumpkin mixture into the greased skillet.
  • In a separate large bowl, combine the pecans, the oats, the flour, the brown sugar, the cinnamon, and the remaining salt, mixing until everything is evenly distributed.
  • Add the melted butter and stir until the pecan mixture comes together to form crumbs.
  • Top the pumpkin mixture with the pecan topping.
  • Bake until the topping is golden-brown, about 45 minutes.
  • Serve warm topped with the ice cream!
