Ingredients
- 1 whole spaghetti squash washed
- 1 1/2 cups water
- parmesan cheese to taste, shredded, for serving
- basil leaves to taste, for garnish
Directions
- Prick the outside of the squash with the prongs of a fork about 10-15 times all over.
- Put the squash in the slow cooker.
- Pour the water into the pot.
- Cook the dish on low heat for 4-6 hours.
- Move the squash onto a cutting board until it is cool to the touch, about 15-30 minutes.
- Cut the squash lengthwise to create two halves.
- Scoop out the seeds from the squash and discard them.
- Pull the flesh from the skin with a fork and shred it until it creates strands like spaghetti noodles.
- Serve topped with the parmesan and the basil leaves.
