Ingredients
For the ice cubes:
- 3 cups water
- pink food coloring to taste
- purple food coloring to taste
- teal food coloring to taste
For the lemonade:
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 9 cups water divided
- 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
For the rim:
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- assortment of colorful sprinkles such as pink, purple, or gold, to taste, mixed together
Directions
- Pour 1 cup of the water each into three different measuring cups with spouts.
- Add the pink food coloring to the first measuring cup, add the purple food coloring to the second measuring cup, and add the teal food coloring to the final measuring cup.
- Pour each of the colored waters into separate ice cube trays.
- Let the ice cubes freeze overnight.
- In a medium pot over medium heat, add the sugar and 1 1/2 cups of the water and bring to a boil.
- Transfer the sugar-water mixture from the heat and let it cool.
- In a large pitcher, add the remaining water, the sugar-water mixture, and the lemon juice and mix well.
- Pour the corn syrup onto a small plate.
- Pour the sprinkles onto another small plate.
- Dip the rims of the drinking glasses into the corn syrup until they are lightly coated.
- Dip the coated rims in the sprinkles until they are completely covered.
- Alternate adding some of the pink ice cubes, some of the purple ice cubes, and some of the teal ice cubes into each of the glasses until they are full.
- Pour the lemonade over the colorful ice cubes.
- Serve.
