Ingredients

  • 2 cups white rice long-grain
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1/2 cup green onions sliced
  • 1/2 cup red bell peppers diced
  • 1/2 cup carrots diced
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1 cup ham diced
  • salt to taste
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons chile paste

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Place the rice in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Drizzle the canola oil and sesame oil over the rice.
  • Add in the garlic, the green onions, the peppers, the carrots, the peas, and the ham, stirring until combined.
  • Season with salt to taste.
  • In a pot on the stove, combine the chicken broth, the soy sauce, and the chile paste. Bring the broth to a boil.
  • Remove the broth mixture from the heat and pour it over the rice, stirring to combine.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 32 minutes.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before uncovering and fluffing the rice with a fork.
  • Increase the temperature of the oven to 475 degrees F.
  • Return the dish to the oven and bake until the rice is browned and a crust forms, about 10 minutes.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and season to taste.
  • Serve!
