Ingredients
- 2 (10.5-ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 5 small potatoes peeled and sliced very thinly
- 2 pounds ground beef cooked and drained
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese or Colby-Jack shredded
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, add the cream of mushroom soup, the milk, the salt, and the black pepper and whisk well to combine.
- In the prepared baking dish, layer 1/2 of the potato slices, 1/2 of the cooked beef, 1/2 of the soup mixture, and 1/2 of the cheese, in that order.
- Repeat the layers once.
- Cover the baking dish with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Uncover the baking dish and bake until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 30 minutes.
- Allow the casserole to rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Slice and serve.
