Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon butter optional
- 1/2 (1 head) cabbage chopped
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large pan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the onion and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain the fat from the skillet. Alternatively, you can leave the fat and use it in place of the butter.
- Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the butter (if you drained the fat from the skillet), the cabbage, the tomatoes, the tomato sauce, the salt, and the pepper to the pan and stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer until the cabbage is soft, about 20-30 minutes.
- Serve.
