Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds bulk spicy pork sausage
  • 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 (31-ounce) can pork and beans
  • 1 (16-ounce) can kidney beans rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can great northern beans rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can black-eyed peas rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas rinsed and drained
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground mustard

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the pork sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.
  • Add the green bell peppers and the onions to the cooked sausage and sauté until they are tender. Drain the excess liquid.
  • Add the pork and beans, the kidney beans, the great northern beans, the black-eyed peas, the pinto beans, the chickpeas, the ketchup, the brown sugar, and the ground mustard to the sausage mixture and stir to combine.
  • Pour the bean mixture into the prepared baking dish and cover with foil.
  • Bake the bean mixture, about 1 hour.
  • Discard the foil and bake the bean mixture until it is bubbly, about 20-30 minutes.
  • Serve.
