Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • butter to taste
  • 1 cup yellow onions diced
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 3/4 cup real bacon bits divided
  • 3 cups mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend shredded
  • 1 (12-ounce) can refrigerated biscuits

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and the butter, and cook, while crumbling, until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain the excess grease from the pan and adjust the stovetop heat to medium-low.
  • Add the onions to the meat mixture and cook, stirring well, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the cheese soup, the ketchup, and the mustard to the meat mixture and stir until all the ingredients are fully combined.
  • Add the salt, the pepper, the garlic powder, and the onion powder to the meat mixture and stir well.
  • Add 1/2 cup of the bacon bits to the meat mixture and stir well.
  • Add the meat mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the meat mixture with the cheese and the remaining bacon bits.
  • Cut the biscuits into 6 pieces each and evenly spread them over the meat mixture.
  • Bake until the biscuits are browned on top, about 18-20 minutes.
  • Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes.
  • Slice and serve.
