Ingredients
For the bars:
- 2 sticks unsalted butter melted
- 2 cups animal cracker crumbs can substitute vanilla wafer crumbs or graham cracker crumbs
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
For the topping:
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 10 ounces semisweet chocolate chopped
Directions
- In a food processor, add the melted butter, the cracker crumbs, the powdered sugar, and 1 1/2 cups of the creamy peanut butter and cover the processor.
- Process until the peanut butter mixture is smooth.
- In a 9x13-inch baking pan, add the peanut butter mixture and spread it out evenly.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the remaining creamy peanut butter and the chocolate and microwave until melted, about 1 minute.
- Stir until the chocolate and the peanut butter are combined and smooth.
- Spread the chocolate-peanut butter mixture evenly over the peanut butter mixture in the dish.
- Cover the dessert and chill until it is set, about 15 minutes in the freezer or about 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Cut the dessert into bars and serve.
