Ingredients

For the cherry crescents:

  • 2 (8-ounce 8-count) cans crescent roll dough
  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (20-ounce) can cherry pie filling

For the optional glaze:

  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then coat it with nonstick spray.
  • Unroll both cans of the crescent roll dough and separate them into 8 rectangles total. Use your fingers to smooth together the perforated lines across each of the rectangles.
  • Starting at one of the long sides, roll each of the rectangles up.
  • Shape the crescent sticks into rounds, then pinch the ends together to form a circle.
  • Use your fingers to gently form the center of the crescent mounds into shallow cups, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese, the granulated sugar, the flour, and 1 teaspoon of the vanilla and mix until it is smooth.
  • Evenly spoon the cream cheese mixture into the centers of each of the crescent mounds.
  • Bake the filled crescents on the center rack until they are golden-brown, about 15-18 minutes.
  • Transfer the baking sheet from the oven and evenly top the filled crescents with the cherry pie filling.
  • Bake the cherry crescents again, about 1 minute.
  • In a medium bowl, add the confectioners' sugar, the milk, and the remaining vanilla and slowly whisk until it is smooth.
  • Evenly drizzle the glaze over the cherry crescents.
  • Serve.
