Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Directions
- Set your oven to 400 degrees F.
- Cream together the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups of the white sugar, the eggs, and the vanilla.
- Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Shape the dough into balls using a spoon.
- Then mix the 2 tablespoons of the white sugar and the cinnamon together.
- Roll the balls of your dough in the cinnamon sugar.
- Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake the cookies until they are set but still soft in the middle, about 8-10 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool on a rack before serving.
