Ingredients
For the brownies:
- 3/4 cup butter melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons milk
For the ganache:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- sprinkles optional, to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the melted butter, the sugar, the brown sugar, and the vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter mixture and mix until they are combined.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, the cocoa powder, the baking powder, the cornstarch, and the salt together.
- With the mixer speed on low, alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture, and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and use a rubber spatula to evenly spread it out.
- Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 18-25 minutes.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the dish.
- While the brownies cool, in a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, the milk chocolate chips, and the heavy cream.
- Microwave the chocolate mixture for 1 minute and then stir. Repeat until all the chocolate chips melt and become smooth.
- Beat the ganache for 1 minute.
- Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies and use a rubber spatula to evenly spread it.
- Top the ganache with the sprinkles.
- Slice and serve.
