Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (15-ounce) can vegetarian baked beans
- 6 cups instant mashed potatoes cooked
- 6 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Add the ground beef, the salt, and the pepper to the skillet and sauté until browned, about 10 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the tomato sauce, the onion, and the Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef mixture and stir to combine.
- Adjust the heat to low and simmer the ground beef mixture for 10 minutes.
- Spoon the beef mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
- Layer the beans over the beef mixture.
- Spread the cooked mashed potatoes over the bean layer and sprinkle them with the shredded cheese.
- Bake the casserole, uncovered, until heated through and golden on top, about 30-40 minutes.
- Serve.
