Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (15-ounce) can vegetarian baked beans
  • 6 cups instant mashed potatoes cooked
  • 6 ounces cheddar cheese shredded

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Add the ground beef, the salt, and the pepper to the skillet and sauté until browned, about 10 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the tomato sauce, the onion, and the Worcestershire sauce to the ground beef mixture and stir to combine.
  • Adjust the heat to low and simmer the ground beef mixture for 10 minutes.
  • Spoon the beef mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Layer the beans over the beef mixture.
  • Spread the cooked mashed potatoes over the bean layer and sprinkle them with the shredded cheese.
  • Bake the casserole, uncovered, until heated through and golden on top, about 30-40 minutes.
  • Serve.
