Ingredients

  • 1 (16-ounce) package Jimmy Dean hot ground pork sausage
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 green onions sliced
  • 24 mini croissants torn
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 5 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 2 cups Gruyère cheese shredded

Directions

  • Coat a 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
  • Add the parmesan cheese, the salt, the green onions, and the mini croissant pieces to the sausage and toss to combine.
  • Pour the sausage mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a bowl, add the milk, the heavy cream, and the eggs and whisk to combine.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the sausage mixture.
  • Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and chill the casserole in the refrigerator, for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Uncover the casserole and evenly sprinkle with the Gruyère cheese.
  • Bake the casserole until it is golden, about 45 minutes.
  • Transfer the baking dish to a wire rack and let the casserole stand, about 10 minutes.
  • Serve.
