Ingredients
For the crust:
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1 (8-ounce) block mozzarella cheese shredded
Optional toppings:
- tomatoes to taste, diced or sliced
- pepperoni to taste
- green bell peppers to taste, diced or sliced
- red bell peppers to taste, diced or sliced
- olives to taste, sliced
- onions to taste, diced or sliced
- mushrooms to taste, sliced
- Canadian bacon to taste, diced
- pineapple to taste, diced
- jalapeƱos to taste, sliced
- fresh basil to taste, chopped
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- Use a pastry brush to lightly coat the sides and bottom of a 13x18-inch baking sheet with the olive oil.
- Evenly press the pizza dough onto the baking sheet.
- Evenly add the pizza sauce to the top of the pizza dough.
- If you're making a cheese-only pizza, evenly sprinkle all of the mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza sauce.
- If you're making a pizza with other toppings, layer only 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza sauce. Top the mozzarella layer with your preferred toppings and then add the remaining mozzarella on top of them.
- Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake until golden-brown and bubbly, about 15 minutes.
- Transfer the pizza to a wire rack and let it cool, about 3-5 minutes.
- Slice and serve.
