Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried pinto beans
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup onions chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • red pepper flakes crushed, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 7 cups water
  • cheese optional, of your choice, shredded, for topping

Directions

  • Add the dried pinto beans, tomato paste, onions, garlic, chili powder, red pepper flakes, salt, cumin, marjoram, and water into the slow cooker in that order.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 5 hours.
  • Serve hot with shredded cheese on top.
