Ingredients
- 12 ounces French bread a day old
- 2 Granny Smith apples peeled
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup for topping, or to taste
- powdered sugar for topping, to taste
- whipped cream for topping, to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease a 9x13-inch greased baking tray
- Slice the bread into 1-inch cubes, then dice and peel the apples into bite-sized pieces.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the apples, bread, cornstarch, and sugar.
- Using a separate bowl, whisk the milk, vanilla, eggs, and cinnamon together. Then, pour the egg mixture into the bread bowl.
- Stir up the ingredients well, then pour into the prepared tray.
- Bake until golden brown, for 45 minutes.
- Serve topped with the maple syrup, powdered sugar, and whipped cream!
