Ingredients
- 2 (16-ounce) cans white beans drained
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 pound lean bacon not thick-cut, cut into 1-inch pieces
- parsley optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In an 8x8-inch square baking dish, add the beans, the maple syrup, the barbecue sauce, the brown sugar, the mustard, and the lemon juice and mix well to combine.
- Evenly top the bean mixture with the bacon pieces, ensuring the bacon is in a single layer.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake until the bacon browns and becomes crisp, about 15 minutes.
- Serve garnished with the parsley.
