Ingredients
- 1 (13.25-ounce) box chocolate cake mix such as Betty Crockerâ„¢ Favorites Super Moistâ„¢ Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
- 2 eggs whisked
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, add the chocolate cake mix, the eggs, and the oil and mix until it is well-combined. It will be very thick.
- Use a medium-sized cookie scoop or spoon to evenly scoop the cookie dough onto the prepared cookie sheet.
- Bake the cookies until they are golden-brown around the edges and slightly darker in the center, about 7-8 minutes.
- Transfer the baking sheet to a wire rack and let the cookies cool, about 4-5 minutes.
- Transfer the cookies to the wire rack and let them cool completely.
- Repeat the baking and cooling process until all of the remaining cookie dough has been used.
- While the cookies are cooling, in a small saucepan over medium heat, add the butter, the cocoa, and the milk and whisk until it is melted.
- Transfer the saucepan from the heat and add the confectioners' sugar. Whisk until it is smooth.
- Evenly pour the frosting over the cookies, then use a knife or spoon to spread the excess frosting around each cookie to completely cover them.
- Let the cookies sit until the frosting is set.
- Serve.
