Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup yellow onion diced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 (0.88-ounce) packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can mixed vegetables drained
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 (28-ounce) package frozen tater tots

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large sauté pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef and the onion, while crumbling, until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease.
  • Add the water and the gravy mix to the beef mixture and stir until the meat is coated in gravy.
  • Reduce the heat to low.
  • Add the cream of mushroom soup, the sour cream, the garlic powder, the onion powder, the salt, and the pepper to the ground beef mixture, stirring until the ingredients are fully combined.
  • Add the mixed vegetables to the ground beef mixture and stir well.
  • Add 1 cup of the cheese to the veggie and beef mixture and stir.
  • Evenly spread the veggie and beef mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Top the beef mixture with the tater tots.
  • Sprinkle the tater tots with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake until the veggie and beef mixture is heated through and the tater tots are golden brown, about 30-35 minutes.
  • Serve.
