Ingredients
- 1 (6-8-pound) ham bone-in, fully cooked
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 3 tablespoons ground mustard
- whole cloves to taste
- 1/2 cup apricot preserves
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- Place a wire rack in a shallow roasting pan.
- Place the ham on the wire rack, then use a sharp knife to score 1/2-inch-deep cuts in a diamond pattern over its entire surface.
- In a small bowl, add the brown sugar and the ground mustard and mix to combine.
- Evenly rub the brown sugar mixture over the ham's surface.
- Stud the cloves into the crosscuts on the ham's surface to form a pattern around the top and the sides.
- Bake the ham, uncovered, for 1 hour.
- Transfer the roasting pan to a wire rack and evenly spread the apricot preserves over the top of the ham.
- Transfer the roasting pan to the oven and bake the glazed ham until it reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees F, about 15-30 minutes.
- Slice the ham and serve.
