Ingredients
For the tater tot bake:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1 cup Thousand Island dressing
- 6 slices American cheese
- 1/4 cup dill pickles diced, can substitute dill relish
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 (32-ounce) bag frozen tater tots
Optional toppings:
- 1/2 cup tomatoes diced
- 1 cup iceberg lettuce shredded
- Thousand Island dressing to taste
Directions
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the beef and the onions and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are translucent.
- Add 1 cup of the Thousand Island dressing, the cheese, the pickles, the garlic powder, the salt, and the pepper to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
- Evenly spoon the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish, then evenly arrange the tater tots on top.
- Bake the tater tot casserole, about 45 minutes.
- Evenly top the tater tot casserole with the tomatoes, the lettuce, and the extra Thousand Island dressing.
- Serve.
