Ingredients
- coarse salt optional, to taste
- blood orange slices optional, to taste
- 4 ounces blood orange juice
- 2 ounces lime juice
- 3 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec
- ice to taste
- orange bitters optional, to taste
Directions
- Place the salt on a plate or in a shallow bowl.
- Rub the rim of the intended serving glass with one of the blood orange slices, then dip the rim of the glass into the salt to coat completely.
- Add the blood orange juice, the lime juice, the tequila, and the triple sec to a cocktail shaker with the ice.
- Cover and shake until combined and chilled, about 20 seconds.
- Fill the prepared glass with more of the ice.
- Pour the margarita into the glass.
- Top with 1 dash of the orange bitters.
- Serve.
