Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3-4 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 24 ounces pasta sauce
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 22 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese shredded
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- Heat the olive oil in a 12–14-inch oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and sauté, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks, until no pink remains, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add the garlic to the beef mixture and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir the pasta sauce, the water, the basil, the parsley, the oregano, the thyme, the chili flakes, the salt, and the pepper into the beef mixture.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Stir the tortellini into the beef mixture and mix until everything is well-combined.
- Top the beef mixture with the mozzarella and the parmesan.
- Cover the skillet with foil and bake until the tortellini is cooked through, about 20 minutes.
- Optionally, uncover and broil for a few minutes to brown the cheese on top.
- Serve.
