Ingredients
- 1/4 cup bacon drippings
- 6 tart apples sliced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 dash nutmeg
Directions
- In a large skillet, add bacon drippings and heat over medium heat on the stovetop until melted.
- Add the apples to the skillet and spread them in an even layer over the bottom of the skillet.
- Drizzle the lemon juice evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar and the salt on top, and mix to make sure they are evenly incorporated.
- Place a lid on the skillet and cook over low heat until the apples are tender and juicy, about 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle the top with the cinnamon and the nutmeg.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
