Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup yellow onion diced
- 1 tablespoon garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 16 ounces elbow macaroni uncooked
- 2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
Directions
- Add the vegetable oil to the pressure cooker and set to sauté.
- Add the ground beef and the onion to the oil, and cook, while crumbling the beef, until the meat is almost cooked through, about 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic, the Worcestershire sauce, the tomato paste, the salt, and the pepper to the pot and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the beef broth into the beef mixture and scrape the bottom of the pot to release any pieces of the meat that may be stuck.
- Add the remaining broth and the macaroni to the beef mixture and stir, ensuring the macaroni is submerged in the broth.
- Lock the lid, seal the valve, and set the pressure-cooking time to 5 minutes.
- When the instant pot is done cooking, carefully quick release the steam valve.
- Stir the shredded cheese into the beef mixture until it is completely melted and combined.
- Serve.
