Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 8 medium Yukon potatoes thinly sliced
- 1/2 large onion thinly sliced
- garlic salt to taste
- coarse ground black pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups Cheddar Jack cheese blend grated
- fresh chives to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
- Add the ground beef and the minced garlic to a large skillet over medium-low heat and cook until the meat is no longer pink.
- Add the sliced potatoes and the onions to the beef mixture.
- Season the potato-beef mixture with the garlic salt and the black pepper and stir to combine.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and cook, about 15 minutes.
- Remove the lid and stir the mixture well.
- Return the lid and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and top the potato bake with the cheese.
- Return the lid and let it sit until the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
- Garnish the potato bake with the chives.
- Serve.
