Ingredients

  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 pound Swiss cheese shredded
  • 1/2 pound Gruyere cheese shredded
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 pound French bread cut into 1-inch cubes
  • preferred meats optional, to taste, for dipping

Directions

  • Simmer the wine in the pot that you will be using for the fondue.
  • Add in the Swiss cheese and Gruyere cheese, adding 1/4 pound at a time and stirring after each addition of the cheese until it is completely melted.
  • Stir in the flour.
  • When the cheese is melted and the flour is incorporated, add in the salt and nutmeg.
  • Serve the fondue with the French bread and preferred meats.
