Ingredients
- 1 (12-ounce) package egg noodles uncooked
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 large onion diced
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 12 ounces cottage cheese
- 1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cook the egg noodles to al dente according to the package directions. Drain.
- While the noodles are cooking, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and the onion while crumbling, until the meat is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the tomato sauce to the meat mixture, stirring well, and simmering for 1 minute.
- Add the cream cheese and the cottage cheese to the meat sauce mixture, stirring together until well blended.
- Stir the cooked egg noodles and the sour cream into the meat sauce mixture until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Pour the casserole mixture into a 13x9-inch casserole dish.
- Bake, uncovered, until heated through, about 30 minutes.
- Season the baked casserole with the salt and the pepper.
