Easy and Delicious French Toast is breakfast done right! The French toast is soaked in a rich, sweet, custard-like coating fried to a delectable golden brown. Only needing 20 minutes or less, you can completely change up the morning and make it that much more amazing. Easy and Delicious French Toast is the way to start the day!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices bread i.e. challah, brioche, or classic white bread
- syrup optional, warmed, to taste, for serving
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Set the mixture aside briefly.
- In a 10-inch or 12-inch skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Whisk together the cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
- Pour the egg mixture into a shallow container.
- Dip the bread in the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated.
- Fry the slices until golden brown, flipping to cook both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Serve with the syrup.
