Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger minced
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 cup onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrot shredded
  • 1/4 head green cabbage thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • kosher salt to taste
  • 1 green onion optional, sliced thinly, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional, toasted, for garnish

Directions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the vegetable oil.
  • Add the garlic and the ginger to the hot oil and cook, while stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add the pork to the garlic mixture and cook, while stirring occasionally and crumbling the pork, until the meat is cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Transfer the pork mixture to a small bowl.
  • In the same skillet over medium heat, add the sesame oil.
  • Add the onions, the carrots, and the cabbage to the hot sesame oil and cook, while stirring, until the vegetables begin to heat through and soften, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the pork mixture to the vegetable mixture and stir to combine.
  • Add the soy sauce and the sriracha to the pork mixture and stir to combine.
  • Cook the pork mixture, while stirring, until the cabbage is tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Add the salt and stir to combine.
  • Serve garnished with the green onions and the sesame seeds.
