Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water 105-110 degrees F
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon yeast active and dry
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2-2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- Grease a pizza pan or baking sheet.
- Add the cup of warm water to a large bowl.
- Combine sugar and yeast in the bowl with the water.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes until the contents begin to bubble slightly.
- Add in the olive oil and stir to combine.
- Add 2 cups of flour and salt.
- Mix gently until a sticky ball forms. Add more flour gradually until you reach a dough consistency.
- Transfer the dough ball to a floured surface and roll out to desired pizza shape. Prick the dough with a fork to avoid any air pockets.
- Pre-bake the dough in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Remove the crust from the oven and add desired sauce and pizza toppings.
- Return pizza to the lower rack of the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the crust has browned slightly.
