Ingredients
For the beef:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional, for serving:
- 2 cups white or brown rice cooked and hot
- green onions to taste, sliced
- sesame seeds to taste
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the beef and the garlic and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink, about 5-8 minutes.
- Drain the excess grease and return the skillet to the heat.
