Ingredients
- 2 cups strawberries measured exactly, fully ripe, stems removed, and crushed
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 (1.75 ounce) box fruit pectin
Directions
- Rinse and dry the containers you are going to put the jam in, at least 5 cups.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the crushed strawberries and the sugar, adding the sugar in one cup at a time and stirring really well after each interval.
- Allow the strawberry to stand for 10 minutes, stirring every once in a while.
- Add the water and pectin into a small pan.
- Bring the pectin mixture up to a boil over a high heat, stirring constantly.
- When it reaches a boiling, stir it for 1 minute.
- Move the pectin mixture from the heat and add it into the strawberry mixture, combing the mixture well and stirring for several minutes until the sugar is dissolved.
- Fill up the containers with the strawberry jam, leaving about 1/2-inch of space at the top.
- Put on the lids and let it stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours you can then store the jam in the fridge for 4 weeks or freeze it for a year, serving it whenever you want!
