Ingredients
For the pork chops:
- 4 (8-ounce) pork chops bone-in, pounded to 3/4-1-inch-thickness
- kosher salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
For the glaze:
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- crushed red pepper flakes to taste, optional
- kosher salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Season the pork chops with the salt and pepper.
- Melt the butter in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork chops to the butter and sear them on both sides until they are golden-brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Place the skillet in the oven and roast until the pork chops are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 140 degrees F, about 8-10 minutes.
- Combine the balsamic vinegar, the honey, the garlic, the oregano, the basil, the thyme, the red pepper flakes, the salt, and the pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer the sauce until it slightly thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Serve the pork chops with the glaze.
