Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk sausage
  • 1 (8-count) package refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 (2.75-ounce) envelope peppered gravy mix plus the ingredients called for on the package

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-8 minutes.
  • Drain the excess fat from the skillet.
  • Open the biscuit package and separate the individual biscuit rounds.
  • Cut each of the biscuit rounds into 4 pieces and spread the pieces evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Add the sausage to the baking dish, layering it evenly over the biscuit pieces.
  • Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the sausage layer in the baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, add the eggs, the milk, the salt, and the black pepper and whisk to combine.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the cheese layer in the baking dish.
  • Using the ingredients called for on the package, prepare the peppered gravy according to the package directions.
  • Pour the peppered gravy evenly over the egg mixture in the baking dish. Do not stir.
  • Bake until the casserole is puffed and golden-brown on top, about 40-45 minutes.
  • Serve.
