Ingredients
For the apple butter glaze:
- 1/4 cup apple butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
For the wings:
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- kosher salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
For the dipping sauce:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon sriracha plus more, to taste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with foil.
- In a medium bowl, add the apple butter, 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar, the apple cider vinegar, and the Dijon mustard and whisk to combine. Set the apple butter mixture aside.
- In a large bowl, add the chicken wings, the vegetable oil, the remaining brown sugar, the garlic powder, the onion powder, the chili powder, the paprika, the salt, and the black pepper and toss to coat.
- On the prepared baking sheet, add the wings and spread them out evenly.
- Reserve 1/2 of the apple butter mixture, then brush 1 side of the wings with the remaining apple butter mixture.
- Bake the wings for 25 minutes. Halfway through cooking, turn the wings and brush the reverse sides with the reserved apple butter mixture.
- In a small bowl, add the sour cream and the sriracha and whisk to combine.
- Serve the wings immediately with the dipping sauce.
