Ingredients
For the tostadas:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup water
- 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups refried beans
- 8 tostada shells
For the optional toppings:
- 1 cup tomatoes diced
- 2 cups cheese of your preference, shredded or crumbled
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- lettuce to taste
- onions to taste
- olives to taste
- jalapenos to taste
- cilantro to taste
- red onions to taste
Directions
- Set your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cook the beef into a large pan until the beef is browned, about 6-8 minutes.
- Drain off the fat.
- Add in the water and the taco seasoning.
- Simmer the beef with the water and seasoning until it has thickened, about 5 minutes.
- At the same time, heat up the refried beans in a skillet over the stove-top.
- Put the tostada shells into the oven and bake them until the shells are warm and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Lightly spoon the heated refried beans into the tostada shells.
- Add in the beef and your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
