Ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon cubed
- 8 ounces tequila blanco
- 1/3 cup lime juice
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup optional
- 1/4 cup kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon coarse sugar
- 1 teaspoon Tajín® seasoning or chili powder
- 4 lime wedges plus more, to taste, for garnish
- ice to taste, for serving
- 4 small watermelon wedges for serving
Directions
- Place the cubed watermelon in a blender and pulse until it breaks down into a liquid, about 30 seconds.
- Strain the watermelon through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
- Mix the tequila and the lime juice with the watermelon purée.
- Add the simple syrup to the watermelon mixture.
- On a small plate, combine the salt, the coarse sugar, and the Tajín seasoning.
- Run one lime wedge each around the rims of four cocktail glasses.
- Dip the rims into the spiced salt mixture.
