Ingredients
- 2 cups warm water 110 degrees F
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
- Dissolve the yeast into the warm water.
- Then add in the honey, and mix well.
- Add in the whole wheat flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour.
- Move the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for at least 10-15 minutes.
- When the dough is smooth and elastic, place it into a well oiled bowl.
- Move the dough several times in the bowl to cover the surface of the dough, and then cover it with a damp cloth.
- Allow it to rise in a warm place until it is doubled in bulk, around 45 minutes.
- Punch the dough to collapse it.
- Shape it into the two loaves, and then place the loaves into two well-greased 9 by 5 inch pans.
- Let them rise until the dough is 1-1 1/2 inches above the pans.
- Then bake the loaves at 375 degrees F for around 25-30 minutes.
- Let the dough cool as much as possible to ensure the best crumb of your bread.
- Serve with whatever toppings or spread you desire!
