Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 (15-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 (15-ounce) package pepperoni slices
- 6 hamburger buns split
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese
Directions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, the salt, the pepper, and the garlic and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.
- Stir the Italian seasoning, the crushed tomatoes and their juices, the tomato sauce, the sugar, and the pepperoni slices into the beef mixture and simmer until the flavors are combined, about 5-7 minutes.
- Evenly spoon the beef mixture onto each of the bottom buns and top each with 1 slice of mozzarella cheese.
- Place the top buns over each of the cheese slices.
- Serve.
