Ingredients
- 1 cup white sugar
- 6 cups cold water divided
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon blue food coloring
- ice cubes to taste
- lemon slices to taste, for garnish
- mint leaves to taste, for garnish
Directions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the white sugar and 1 cup of the water and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Transfer the saucepan from the heat and let the simple syrup cool.
- In a large pitcher, add the fresh lemon juice, the prepared simple syrup, and the remaining water and stir until it is completely combined.
- Gradually add the blue food coloring to the lemonade and stir until the color is evenly distributed.
- Add the ice cubes to the lemonade.
- Add more of the ice cubes to the serving glasses and top with the lemonade.
- Serve the lemonade garnished with the lemon slices and the mint leaves.
