Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef 90% lean
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 hamburger buns split

Directions

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook, while crumbling, until it is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain the fat from the saucepan.
  • Add the ketchup, the water, the brown sugar, the Worcestershire sauce, the mustard, the garlic powder, the onion powder, and the salt to the ground beef and stir to combine.
  • Bring the beef mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and cover the saucepan.
  • Simmer the beef mixture until thickened and the flavors meld together, about 30-40 minutes.
  • Serve the Sloppy Joe mixture on the buns.
