Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1/2 pound Polish sausage fully cooked, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion halved and sliced
  • 1 celery stalk sliced
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • rice cooked, to taste

Directions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the canola oil.
  • Add the sausage to the oil and cook, stirring frequently, until it is lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the mushrooms, the bell pepper, the onion, and the celery to the sausage and cook, stirring frequently, until the vegetables are tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir the maple syrup and the pepper into the sausage mixture and cook until the maple syrup is heated through.
  • Serve the sausage mixture with the rice.
