Ingredients
- 1 pound hot or regular breakfast sausage bulk or casings removed
- 1 small onion diced
- 1 small cabbage sliced into bite-sized pieces, about 4 cups
- 1 (15-ounce) can Great Northern beans drained
- 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 48 ounces chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
Directions
- Cook and crumble the sausage in a large pot over medium-high heat until almost browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the onions and cook until the sausage is completely browned and the onions are tender, about 3 minutes.
- Add the cabbage, the beans, the tomatoes, the broth, the oregano, the basil, and the thyme.
- Simmer until the cabbage is softened, about 5 minutes.
