Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1 cup pepperoni chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons Italian seasoning divided
- 1 (26-ounce) jar tomato-basil pasta sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza crust dough
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese grated
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and the pork sausage and cook, while crumbling, until the meat mixture is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the excess grease from the skillet.
- Add the pepperoni, the flour, and 3 teaspoons of the Italian seasonings to the meat mixture and stir until combined.
- Add the pasta sauce to the meat mixture and bring to a boil.
- Evenly spoon the meat mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Evenly sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of the mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture.
- Place the unrolled pizza crust over the top of the mozzarella cheese layer.
- Use a pastry brush to evenly brush the olive oil over the pizza crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining Italian seasoning, the remaining mozzarella cheese, and the parmesan cheese over the pizza crust.
- Bake the casserole until golden-brown, about 20-25 minutes.
- Serve.
