Ingredients
- 1 (28-ounce) package frozen tater tots
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 2 (10-ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (10-12-ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- parsley optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- Place the tater tots on a large baking sheet and bake until they begin to brown, but are not cooked through completely, about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the tots from the oven.
- Reduce the oven heat to 350 degrees F.
- In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, add the beef and the onion and cook, while crumbling the meat, until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the frying pan from the heat.
- Mix the garlic powder, the salt, and the pepper into the beef mixture.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup and the frozen vegetables and mix until combined.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x13-inch baking pan or casserole dish.
- Top the beef mixture with the shredded cheese and the tater tots in a single layer.
- Bake until the cheese is bubbly and the tater tots are nicely browned, about 40 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with the parsley.
