Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups bananas very ripe and mashed
  • 2 3/4 cups all purpose-flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/4 cups mini semisweet chocolate chips divided

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray a 11x17-inch rimmed baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, the brown sugar, and the granulated sugar together until combined and creamy.
  • Add the vanilla, the eggs, and the mashed bananas to the butter mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, the baking soda, and the salt.
  • Pour the dry ingredients mixture into the wet ingredients mixture until just combined.
  • Fold 1 cup of the chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle the batter with the remaining chocolate chips.
  • Bake until golden brown and a cake tester inserted into the center emerges with only a few moist crumbs clinging to it, about 18-22 minutes.
  • Let the cake cool.
  • Slice and serve.
