Ingredients

  • 1 (32-ounce) carton chicken broth
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 (16-ounce) package long egg noodles
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley optional, to taste, chopped, for garnish

Directions

  • In a large pot with a lid over medium heat, add the broth and the bouillon cube and bring the mixture to a boil, while stirring occasionally.
  • Add the noodles to the broth mixture and stir to combine.
  • Bring the noodle mixture to a boil.
  • Add the cream of chicken soup to the noodle mixture and stir well to combine.
  • Bring the noodle mixture to a boil and cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Transfer the pot from the heat.
  • Add the butter to the noodle mixture and stir well to combine.
  • Cover the pot with the lid and allow the noodle mixture to sit until the noodles are tender and the liquid has been absorbed, about 20 minutes.
  • Season the noodle mixture with the salt and the black pepper.
  • Serve garnished with the parsley.
