Ingredients
- 1 pound pork belly slices
- sea salt to taste
- 8 tablespoons light soy sauce
- juice of 1 orange
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 clove garlic minced
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a roasting tray with foil.
- Place the pork belly slices fat-side up on the prepared roasting pan.
- Use a sharp knife to score the fat.
- Season the pork slices with the salt, being cautious as pork belly is already salty.
- Lay the pork on its sides and bake until golden on both sides and cooked through to 145 degrees F internally, about 12 minutes per side.
- Lean the pork against each other so the fat is facing up.
- Turn on the broiler and broil the pork until the pork is crispy and bubbling, about 5 minutes.
- In a large pan, whisk together the soy sauce, the orange juice, the honey, the brown sugar, the cider vinegar, and the garlic over medium-high heat.
- Bring the sauce to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and allow the sauce to thicken, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the pork slices to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve.
